Description
The Sri Lanka College of Haematologists (SLCH) was established on December 11, 1997, under the Companies Act No. 17 of 1982, with the primary objective of promoting and advancing knowledge in both clinical and laboratory haematology in Sri Lanka.
SLCH serves as a professional body for haematologists in the country, facilitating continuous professional development, collaboration, and dissemination of research and best practices in the field. The organization regularly publishes guidelines, circulars, and educational materials to support its members and the broader medical community.
The College also engages in collaborations with international haematology organizations, such as the American Society of Hematology and the European Hematology Association, to enhance the standards of haematology practice in Sri Lanka.
SLCH is governed by a council elected annually. As of 2025, the council includes President Dr. K.S. Pathirage, President Elect Dr. T. Sooriyakumar, Joint Secretaries Dr. W. Wickramasinghe and Dr. T. Kumarasiri, and Treasurer Dr. N. Ediriwickrama.
