Message From State Minister of Indigenous Medicine Promotion, Rural and Ayurveda Hospitals Development and Community Health
For over 3000 years, Ayurveda and Indigenous Medicine have been integral to the daily lives of the Sri Lankan people, seen as a pathway to achieving a prosperous and happy life. There is a clear connection between Ayurveda, Indigenous Medicine, and Sri Lanka’s tourism sector, as many tourists seek traditional medical treatments and Sri Lankan Ayurvedic therapies to enhance their mental health and overall well-being. In recent years, wellness tourism has significantly contributed to our country’s domestic income. Despite the pandemic’s negative impact on our tourism sector, the demand for herbal products is rapidly growing both locally and globally. Currently, government authorities are developing mechanisms to recover from the pandemic while welcoming tourists back to our country.
I commend the efforts behind “Medicare 2025 – Exhibition,” which aims to raise awareness and familiarize the global community with traditional and Ayurvedic herbal remedies, ensuring a long and healthy life for all. The future of our Ayurveda and Indigenous Medicine sector relies on preserving and transmitting its values to future generations. This exhibition is vital, especially at a time like this. I extend my best wishes to everyone involved in this exceptional work and invite the general public and healthcare partners to participate in this valuable event.
Hon. (Mr.) Sisira Jayakody M.P,
(Attorney-at-Law) State Minister of Indigenous Medicine Promotion, Rural and Ayurveda Hospitals Development and
Community Health
Message From Chairman of Medicare
It is my honor to extend a heartfelt welcome to the Medicare Healthcare Exhibition 2025, themed ‘Cure Sri Lanka’. This event serves as a beacon for innovation and collaboration in our healthcare sector, aiming to transform healthcare delivery across our nation. The main objectives of this exhibition are manifold: to educate the public and healthcare stakeholders on proper disease prevention methodologies, showcase recent changes and advances in the healthcare sector, highlight Sri Lanka’s ultra-modern technological advancements, and present effective treatment methods.
Furthermore, it aims to spotlight the best services available in hospitals, medical laboratories, and provide valuable data on healthcare. Medicare 2025 stands as an ideal platform to foster knowledge exchange among specialized hospitals for neuro care, cardiac care, women and children’s health, eye care, home nursing services, ambulance services, government organizations, cancer prevention units, medical labs, distributors of self-operating medical equipment, prosthetic services, in-vitro fertilization services, and international hospitals that promote medical tourism. Together, let us explore transformative technologies, share insights, and forge partnerships that will redefine healthcare excellence in Sri Lanka and beyond.
I am confident that our collective efforts here will lead to significant advancements in enhancing patient care and improving health outcomes nationwide. Thank you all for your participation and commitment to shaping the future of healthcare.
Dr. Amal Harsha De Silva
Deputy Director General of Health Services, Ministry of Health, Founder Secretary – Private Health Services Regularity Council, Chairman – Medicare 2025
