IIHS Multiversity Showcases Global Healthcare Education and Launches MSc in Digital Health at Medicare 2026

The International Institute of Health Sciences (IIHS) Multiversity proudly participated in the Medicare 2026 International Healthcare Exhibition as the Official Education Partner, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s continued commitment to advancing healthcare education and innovation in Sri Lanka. Held from 6th to 8th March 2026 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo, the exhibition brought together healthcare professionals, educators, students, and industry leaders from across the country to explore emerging trends, innovations, and opportunities in the healthcare sector. As the Official Education Partner of the event, IIHS played a central role in highlighting the importance of globally recognised healthcare education and the growing integration of technology in healthcare training and practice.

The IIHS stall attracted considerable interest throughout the three-day exhibition, drawing a large number of school leavers, healthcare professionals, parents, and industry stakeholders eager to learn about international healthcare education pathways. Visitors were introduced to the diverse range of programmes offered by IIHS Multiversity, many of which are delivered in collaboration with prestigious international universities such as the University of Surrey, Deakin University, Metropolia University, and James Cook University. These programmes are designed to provide students with the opportunity to obtain globally recognised qualifications while studying locally in
Sri Lanka, opening doors to international careers in the healthcare sector. The programmes promoted during the exhibition included postgraduate and undergraduate degrees in areas such as Nursing, Biomedical Sciences, Digital Health, Physiotherapy, Exercise and Sports Science, Psychological Science, Nutrition Science, and Laboratory Science, alongside several advanced diploma programmes that provide strong academic foundations and international progression pathways.

The participation of IIHS at Medicare 2026 also served as a platform to demonstrate the institution’s strong global partnerships and commitment to developing highly skilled healthcare professionals who can contribute to healthcare systems both locally and internationally. A major highlight of IIHS’s participation at the exhibition was the official launch of the Master of Science (MSc) in Digital Health programme, awarded by the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom and delivered in Sri Lanka by IIHS Multiversity. The programme was formally launched on the second day of the exhibition, 7th March 2026, during a special ceremony attended by distinguished academics and healthcare professionals. The launch represented an important step forward in strengthening Sri Lanka’s capacity to embrace digital transformation in healthcare and develop professionals who can lead innovation in this rapidly evolving field.

The launch ceremony was led by Dr. Amal Harsha and Dr. Kithsiri Edirisinghe, Chief Executive Officer of IIHS Multiversity, whose leadership has been instrumental in expanding international academic collaborations and introducing forward-looking programmes that align with global healthcare trends. The occasion was further enriched by the presence of an esteemed panel comprising Dr. Chamika H.
